North Shore Elopement At Superior Shores Resort

Adam and Rachel brought their laid-back, fun personalities, as well as their family to Superior Shores Resort August 12, 2022 to celebrate their love. This elopement perfectly combines the natural beauty of the North Shore of Minnesota with fine art details making it feel every bit as special as an elaborate destination wedding afar. The misty day made it all the more moody and romantic. And the fact that Rachel embraced every rain drop, every moment, and every step of the way is exactly why we choose to specialize in these intimate kind of weddings!

SUPERIOR SHORES RESORT WEDDING, TWO HARBORS WEDDING

Superior Shores Resort is located just north of Two Harbor, Minnesota. It’s about a half hour past the iconic city of Duluth. The resort features its own private beach and cove with incredible views of Lake Superior. This particular wedding took place in a log cabin, also known as the Superior Shores Lake Homes. Since they are privately owned, a wedding in the cove does require permission prior in case you plan on replicating this beautiful love-story. However, the beach is open to all their guests and there’s a restaurant on-site for hosting a dinner if you want to simplify the process or change the scene.

    THE ELOPEMENT TIMELINE OF EVENTS

We started the morning in the cabin with Hair and Makeup by the talented Michelle Dunlap Design. Photographer, Trisha Spencer with Xsperience Photography began detail shots including a set of pearls handed down 3 generations and of course her signature details of nature…leaves, lake superior, frosty dewdrops and trees for this particular scene.

“Choose a location with filled with natural beauty and you can avoid the stress of planning and buying a bunch of stuff you’ll have to throw away or try to sell after. There is nothing prettier than nature! It’s truly the best decor a bride could ask for.”

After getting ready Adam and Rachel saw each other for the first time. The trees provided them with a nice moment out of the rain. They greeted all their family members as they arrived. After some good conversation and a couple drinks they headed down to the cove for an intimate ceremony overlooking Lake Superior.

We spent the next hour efficiently documenting the groups and the two of them in the beautiful landscapes before making our way back to the cabin for dinner. The couple chose Qdoba because it’s their favorite!! While Kari with White Loon Events officiated the ceremony and cleared out the ceremony site, and while Trisha was working her magic with the camera, Michelle (the Hair and makeup artist) drove to Qdoba in Duluth.

“That’s what Elope West is all about…creating a smooth, stress-free and magical day. And yes, that does take a team of professionals! For this wedding I scouted the ceremony spot, set up the floral arch and ran ceremony, officiated, set up the entire dinner, not to mention all the pre-planning.”

Adam and Rachel ended their small wedding celebration with a sweet, somewhat private, first dance on the deck. The family sat indoors and watched through the large windows. It was so romantic. Adam’s mom wanted in on the fun so they added a mother/son and father/daughter dance to the itinerary. You’re allowed to improvise at elopements since it’s Your Day Your Way;)
